Written by: Kathy Harrison As I think about the 48 hours we were without electricity in our home during the most recent storm, I was amazed at how dark the night can be without light. We hunted around for flashlights, candles and lanterns. We bought wood for the fireplace and bought 100 pounds of ice to try and save our refrigerated and frozen food. Don’t ask me why, but I started thinking about marriages that have no light shining in them, no love. These marriages feel dark, depressing and hopeless. The couples try and hunt around for something that will lessen the darkness. They try and save what they have left, by holding on to what might already be poisoned by lack of protection or a watchful eye. They may once in a while see a flutter of light but the darkness never really goes away. They may decide to live this way not knowing what else to do. The hope for all marriages is the LIGHT that JESUS can bring into a marriage… His LOVE in us shining on our spouses. Every time a PG&E truck went by we became so hopeful that they had the power we needed. Our (PG&E) POWERFUL, GREAT, & ETERNAL GOD does have that power. That power brought us out of our storms of darkness. That power can bring you out of the same storms.
